John Patrick Joyce, 81, of St. Paul, MN passed away on June 24, 2025. He was born December 15, 1943, to George and Mary Joyce. His ancestors were from County Mayo, Ireland.
John graduated from Nativity School, Benilde High School and attended the University of Illinois. He joined the Air Force at age 17 during the Cuban Crisis. He worked for the Army in Colorado, and later for Mammoth in Eden Prairie. John enjoyed the great outdoors: fishing and camping under the stars on the Gunflint Trail, pheasant hunting in SW Minnesota, and hiking and skiing in CO.
Preceded in death by parents George and Mary Joyce, brother Bob Joyce and sister Mary Lou Joyce. Survived by sister Kathy Joyce Jacquemart, brother-in-law Richard Jacquemart, nephew Rob Joyce, niece Stephanie Nicholson, Brent Jacquemart, Rich (Jennifer) Jacquemart, special cousins: Elfriede Falvey, Dorothy Paulson, Donna Trapp, the many Falvey cousins and Fangel cousins, and special family the Parks: Curt, Bunny, Jolene, Rob, and Amanda.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM, visitation beginning one hour prior, at Nativity of Our Lord, 1900 Stanford Ave, Saint Paul, MN 55105, on Thursday July 31. Burial will take place at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to the Dorothy Day Residence in St. Paul or to the St. Anne Food Pantry, 106 11th Avenue Northeast in Ruskin, Florida.
