John Thomas Miley, 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on March 14, 2026. Preceded in death by parents, James and Mary Jane Miley, brothers Patrick and Thomas, and niece Michelle. John was born on April 13, 1954, in St. Paul, Minnesota. He attended St. Thomas Academy and the College of St. Thomas. John and his first wife, Kathleen, made a home in Siren, Wisconsin, to raise their children. He spent most of his career as a skilled carpenter and left his expert craftmanship in many homes throughout Minnesota and Florida. John loved classic cars, being on the water, skiing, Minnesota sports teams, and sharing a meal and a long conversation with family and friends. He enjoyed the peace and beauty of rural northern Wisconsin and southern Florida. He lived life fully, could fix nearly anything, and had a story for every occasion. John loved and was loved dearly by his many family members and friends. He had a strong Christian faith and was active, along with his wife Amy, in his church in Labelle, Florida. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, a loving and supportive father, a proud and fun grandfather, and a loyal brother and friend who was always there when others needed him, faced life’s challenges with courage and perseverance, and had an infectious love of life. He will be deeply missed by many, and his memory will forever be cherished.
Wake will be held at O’Halloran & Murphy, 575 Snelling Ave, St Paul, MN, March 31, 2026, 4pm to 7pm. Celebration of life will be held at St. Thomas More Church, 1079 Summit Ave, St Paul, MN, April 1, 2026, 11am (visitation at 10am).
