Of St. Paul, MN

Passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. Preceded in death by her husband of 61 years Terry, parents Lawrence and Ruth Traxler, sisters Marion Adam and Eileen Lee.

Survived by loving children Rick Thonet (Ann), Carole Keene, (Mark), Terri Spencer (Ron), Bob Thonet (Tara), Jim Thonet (Shelly); brother Clem (Joan) Traxler plus 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and too many friends to count. 

For many years she was a nurse at St Joseph Hospital and the Highland Chateau.  But most important she was the matriarch of a what has grown to a huge family who will miss her more than words can ever say.  In retirement, Joan and Terry spent summers on Eagle Lake, and the winters in Las Vegas.  Even when Terry passed, The Lake was a great source of enjoyment and comfort for Joan. It surely helped us keep her as long as we did. 

Visitation at O’Halloran & Murphy at 575 So. Snelling Ave. St. Paul, MN 55116 from 5:00 – 7:00 on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 and 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Holy Spirit Catholic Church on Thursday, May 5, 2022 before mass.  Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 515 South Albert St, St Paul, MN, 55116 at 11:00 AM on Thursday, May 5, 2022. Internment Calvary Cemetery, Faribault, MN.
