Jeffrey Scott Gruber
Jeff Gruber, age 60, of St. Paul, Minnesota passed away on Friday, April 29th after a cancer diagnosis in July of last year.
Jeff was born on November 12, 1961 to William “Bill” Gruber and Margaret “Monnie” (Winn) Gruber in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin, where he grew up and graduated from Menomonee Falls North High School in 1980.
In August 1981, he married Angela Armand. They had two children, Austin and Ari. He was a loving dad who was incredibly proud of his children, and their happiness was of great importance to him.
In December 2021, he was united in marriage to Jill Sundberg. They loved spending time together in their home, teaming up on projects and caring for their pets, as well as traveling and sharing many other mutual interests and activities.
Jeff had a passion for technology and was involved in the IT industry for many years. He had a 20+ year career at Ecolab in both Tucson, Arizona and St. Paul, Minnesota. He most recently worked as a Senior IT Development Manager at Smart Care in St. Paul since November 2017. He was beloved by his co-workers and highly respected for his talent and work ethic throughout each of the organizations he was a part of.
Some of his interests and hobbies included cooking, motorcycles, beer brewing, Wisconsin sports, and gathering often with his close friends and family. He had a curious mind and was someone who delved fully into new endeavors, finding as much joy in the researching, organizing, and planning parts as the outcome.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brother Mark. He is survived by his wife Jill, son Austin, daughter-in-law Sara, and grandsons Jakob and Kaleb of Layton, Utah; son Ari of Portland, Oregon; sister Pat Rhodes, brother-in-law Ken, and nephews Scott (Jeanne), Todd, Chad (Katie), and Wade (Liane); sister Shelley Lueck, brother-in-law Brian, nephews Joe and Dustin, and niece Tiffany Jurczyk (Ryan), as well as many other loving relatives and dear friends.
A celebration of life to honor Jeff and share memories and stories amongst friends, family, and co-workers will be announced at a later date.
Because dogs always held a special place in his heart, including his rescue dog and buddy, Rufus, memorials may be made in Jeff’s name to Secondhand Hounds at https://www.secondhandhounds.org/ways-to-donate.
