Janice Marie Elliott passed away peacefully at home on June 17th, 2025 at the age of 85. She is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Katherine Lang and brother Joseph Lang. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Charles W. Elliott, and their four children Kristi Nelson (Greg Nelson), Mark Elliott, Jane Elliott-Dorau, and Peter Elliott (Mary Jean Elliott), her eight grandchildren Miles Nelson (Roxane Nelson), Caitlin Fredrickson (Kenny Fredrickson), Frans Elliott, Kaisa Elliott, Emma Dorau, Pearl Elliott, James Dorau, and Sadie Dorau, and four great grandchildren Lily Fredrickson, Jackson Nelson, Jamie Nelson, and Lucy Fredrickson. She is also survived by siblings Bob Lang, John Lang, and Mary Meyer (Bob Meyer) along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Janice was born June 10th,1940 in Virginia, MN. There, she grew up, attended school and graduated from Roosevelt High School, where she met Charles. She attended the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, MN and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. After graduating college, Janice and Charles married in 1962.
Janice moved to Cloquet, MN with her family in 1968 where they lived for 30 years. During that time she worked as a public health nurse for the Carlton County WIC program. Janice and her husband Charles fulfilled their life-long dream of living on Lake Vermilion after they retired in 1997. In her retirement, some of her greatest pleasures were enjoying time at the lake with her family and children, traveling, visiting with friends and relatives, and spending winters in Florida.
The funeral service will be held at O’Halloran & Murphy, 8700 Valley Creek Road Woodbury MN on Friday June 27th at 11:00 am. An open visitation period will begin at 10:00 am prior to the service. A gathering and lunch to celebrate Janice’s life will follow the service at the same location.
