POULTON, James M.
Age 75, of Roseville, passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.
James was born on January 14, 1950, to Marion and Mary Poulton. After graduating from high school, James proudly served in the Army Reserves and pursued higher education at Mankato State and the University of Minnesota.
James was truly known for his deep love of his family and friends. A devoted fan of all things Minnesota sports, he loved spending time outdoors, especially boating on the state’s many lakes. Whether he was coaching his sons' sports teams when they were young, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, he always approached life with the enjoyment of those around him in mind. He was never happier than when captaining a boat with his family on board, enjoying the sun and the water.
His greatest joy in life was his family. James leaves behind a loving legacy carried on by his children, Bryce Poulton and his wife Molly, along with their three cherished daughters, Breya, Makenna, and Maya, and his son Kyle Poulton. He is also survived by his older sister, Ruth Cain, and beloved nieces and nephews. His spirit will live on in the stories and laughter shared by those he held so dear.
He is preceded in death by his devoted parents, Marion and Mary Poulton.
A memorial gathering and service to celebrate James’s life will take place at Roseville Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 14th at 1pm with an hour visitation prior. There will be a private interment to follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
His spirit was gentle, his love was unconditional, and he will be profoundly missed.
