Passed away peacefully on Tuesday 3/30/2021 surrounded by his loving family. Preceded in death by parents James Sr and Eileen Gibbons; father-in-law Leif (Dorothy) Amundsen; brothers-in-law, Robin Cody, and Tom Plasch. Survived by wife Valorie; sisters, Jessie Gibbons, Molli Cody and Kat (Andre) Graham; stepchildren, Kathy (Rich) Bresnahan, James (Jana) Starwalt and PJ (Dorothy) Zimmerman; grandchildren, Alex, Megan and Canon and many nieces; nephews; and cousins too numerous to list. Life member VFW Post 8752, life member Tin Can Sailors Assoc.

He loved his Irish Heritage, the US Navy and history. His many stories will be missed by all fortunate enough to have heard them. Retired from Seal Beach Weapon Station, Seal Beach, CA as Explosive Equip. Mechanic. He was employed by the D.O.D. as a civilian to service missiles, rockets, bombs, shells and small arms. “More fun than work!” Walk by visitation 5-7 PM, Monday, April 5th at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 575 Snelling Ave. S, St. Paul. Service followed by internment at Ft. Snelling Tuesday, April 6th due to COVID restrictions, this is by invite only.
