James R. Dunne

Dunne, James Raymond (“Jim”) of Roseville, MN passed away peacefully January 17th at the age of 64, after having lived with Young Onset Alzheimer's disease over the past several years. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, V. Raymond and Ethel F. Dunne. He is survived by Mary E. Seabloom, their sons John Louis Seabloom-Dunne (Katie Jeddeloh) and Grant Gilbert Dunne, brother-in-law Eric Seabloom (Elizabeth Borer), and cousins Linda Leighton of Hopkins, MN, David Sundeen (Linda) of Duluth, Doreen Watkins of Menomonie, WI, and Arni Fredrickson of Sequim, WA, along with many other dear family members and longtime friends.

Jim enjoyed cooking (whether fussing over a dinner party or tossing more noodles in the pot for friends who stopped by), biking, organic gardening at their Welcome Farm, being in the Northwoods, and music - especially the Grateful Dead. He poured a mean Perfect Manhattan.

Jim was a kind, hard working man with a patient, encouraging, and self-contained nature who loved nothing in his life more than his family. When he first received this difficult diagnosis, his immediate concern was for his sons: that they know he was proud of them, and would continue to be proud of them far beyond the time he would be able to tell them so himself.

Many thanks to the staff and volunteers at Lyngblomsten Care Center who, even under the constraints of Covid, provided inspired and compassionate care.

A gathering to remember and celebrate Jim’s life will be held later this year.
