Age 87 Died November 20, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents, Dr. John and Mary; son, Kevin; grandson, Tony Basta; brother, John and son-in-law, Jimmy Basta. Survived by wife of 62 years, Mary; children, Michelle Basta, James (Kim), Kristin (Steven) Messing, Beth (Christopher) Pope; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lila, nieces, nephews and many other family members and friends. Cretin Class of 1953. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Friday, December 2 at Church of St. Peter, Mendota (1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy) with visitation one hour prior to mass. Private Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Kevin Berry Scholarship at Cretin Derham Hall or Tony Basta Scholarship at Perpich School for Performing Arts.
