Harold Roger
November 10, 1935 – August 29, 2021
Age 85, died peacefully after a battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. Harold had a sharp mind up to the end and was fortunate to have a quality of life that allowed him to remain independent and enjoy happy times with family and friends until the last few months. A graduate of Cretin High School ‘53, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps ’58-’60, and graduated from St. Thomas College in ‘62 (B.A. Math and Physics). He had a successful career in engineering and technology, including years at Honeywell, McDonnell-Douglas, State of MN, and State of WA. Harold had a love for music and was a gifted pianist, playing by ear. Preceded in death by parents, Harold T. and Ann C. (née Frenzel); infant sister Rose Mary; brothers Neil, Kenneth, Paul (Margaret); sister Mary; and former wife, Patricia. He is survived by his children, Tom (Fiona) of London, England, Robert (Jennifer) of Mendota Heights, John of St. Paul, and Peggy (Tony) Hansen of St. Paul; his grandchildren, Andrew, Brock, Michael (Laura), Julia, Lauren, Bryn, Regan, and Fionn; his sisters Roxanne Sands, Angela Goodrick, and Allison Purtell MD, and many nieces and nephews. Harold , also known as Harry - was greatly loved and will be sorely missed by many. Interment with military honors at Fort Snelling National Cemetery on Monday, October 25, at 1:30 p.m., please arrive 15 minutes early to Assembly Area #6; followed by a celebration of life for both Harold and Patricia. Memorials to donor’s choice.
