George F. Gruber

Age 88 of Lilydale, passed away Sunday, September 24, 2023 of pancreatic cancer.

Preceded in death by parents, Frank and Helen Gruber; sons, Frank, Greg, and Steven; and sister Joan Flanagan. Survived by Loving Partner of 25 years, Beverly Dunbar; his children, Glen, Paul, Jeff, Beth, and Nancy; Bonus family, Kristi Kae and Tom, Allie and Cassie Haselman, David and Martha, Chris, Maggie Yanke, Katie, Annie, and Henry Bogie; and Mike, Julie, Danielle, Sara, and Jonathon Bogie. He was much loved by Bev's Family.

A Graduate of Monroe Highschool Class of 1953, George worked in Hamm's Brewery for 40 years (loved his job, who wouldn't!) He boxed in golden gloves in his teens, and was the proud coach of baseball in Cottage Grove, with many winning teams (he loved those kids.) Bev and George had 25 wonderful years together - traveling, spending time with wonderful friends, attending basketball, baseball, and volleyball games of the Haselman and Bogie kids - especially Cretin games, Go Raiders!, going to stage shows and dining out (a lot of dining out!), especially Wednesday nights at DeGidio's with the gang, and most of all, they enjoyed their quiet times together.

Mass of Christian Burial 10am Saturday, September 30 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 398 W. Superior St., St. Paul with visitation beginning at 9am. Private burial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the West 7th Street Boys Club, 377 Schletty Lane, W. St. Paul, MN 55118.

Thank you to the Villa's of Lilydale for being the best neighbors ever.

George was one of the good guys, and he will be missed every day.
