Age 90 of Roseville, MN .Passed away after a brief illness on October 19th, 2021.  He is preceded in death by parents, Reginald and Esther DeSmidt, sister Barbara, and his beloved Wife of 61 years, Helen.  Survived by son David (Jody) DeSmidt and daughter Lisa (Ed) Trudeau.  Grandchildren: Dave (Kristen), Eddie (Lindsay), Jeff (Jade), Mike (Erin), Alexandra (Van), Kathryn, Daniel and many Great-Grandchildren.  George was born February 9th, 1931.  He married Helen on New Year’s Eve 1955.  George worked as an insurance agent with American Family for 28 years before retiring in 1989.  He loved spending time at his cabin on Woman Lake, fishing with his buddy, Leroy, and spending time with his Grandkids; splitting wood, taking them ‘Bear Hunting’ in his old pickup, water skiing and on numerous tractor rides around the road.  Memories we will all cherish. Mass of Christian Burial 8:00 am on Friday, November 19th at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church (2048 Hamline Ave N Roseville). Visitation following mass at the church.  Private Internment St Mary’s Cemetery.
