Gail Rannels Harlin, age 66, of Woodbury, MN, peacefully went to be with the Lord on November 12, 2023, surrounded by her family at home.
She grew up in many different places, and made many friends, keeping up with them extensively throughout her life. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Alfred University (Alfred, NY) and a Master’s in Nursing from Brigham Young University (Provo, UT). She was married to Dan for almost 43 years, living in Utah, Massachusetts, and Texas. Through her adult life she enjoyed working as a nurse, homeschooling her children, leading women’s Bible studies, singing in choirs, keeping up with friends, and crafting with and reading to her grandchildren. Having become a Christian as a young adult, she loved the Lord, learning to find in God her only comfort in life and in death through Bible studies, church, and Christian friends. Later in life she was grateful to locate her birth mother, Sara Doe (preceded her in death), along with her many half siblings, nieces, and nephew.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hermann and Nancy Rannels. She is survived by her husband, Dan Harlin; daughter, Amelia (Harlin) Greever (Joshua), and son, Gregory Harlin; grandchildren, Daniel, Anna, Lydia, and Peter Greever; brother, Randy Rannels (Linda) and a niece, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on December 8, 2023 at The North Church (5151 Program Ave, Mounds View, MN 55112). Visitation at 10am. Service at 11am.
