MARKS Ethan, Passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 25. Born February 27, 2001, in St. Paul, Minnesota, Ethan remained deeply connected to the community he called home.
Ethan dreamed of becoming a teacher and spent time tutoring children, inspired by his beloved grandmother who left a lasting mark on him. He was known for his gentle spirit, generous heart, and unmistakable sense of style. Ethan had a gift for making others feel welcome and at ease, often filling a room with laughter.
In recent years, Ethan faced significant challenges following a traumatic injury that led to years of substance dependence. In the last eight months of his life, he lived in sobriety with courage and determination, giving his family some of their most treasured memories — a time marked by clarity, reconnection, and renewed hope.
He is survived by his mother, Anne Marks, and his sister, Maddie Marks. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Christine Marks, and his grandfather, David Marks.
A celebration of Ethan’s life will be held on Saturday, March 28, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the University Club of St. Paul. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Thrive Family Recovery Resources, which supports individuals and families affected by substance dependence.
