Schindler, Ellen M. (nee: Smith) age 96 of Roseville passed away peacefully on June 3,2026. Ellen was the only child of Howard and Geil Smith. She was born April 2, 1930, in Murdo, South Dakota. She was raised on a ranch near Stamford, South Dakota. She loved the ranch life. She graduated valedictorian from Kadoka High School. She attended Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota. There she met Marvin Schindler and they married in 1953. They moved to Minnesota where they built their home and raised a family in Roseville. Marvin preceded Ellen in death. Ellen is survived by her children: Karen Erickson (Gordon), Paul (Karen) and Mark; grandchildren: Matthew Erickson, Christine Pacheco (Michael), and Robert Erickson (Melanie); great grandsons: Andrew, Luke, Nathan, Ryan, Zack, Caleb and Luke, and her beloved dog Heidi. Ellen's Christian faith was the center of her life. She loved and followed Jesus Christ. She had a notebook with over 2000 names of people she prayed for regularly. Her memorial service will be held Friday June 12, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Church (2120 Lexington Ave N, Roseville). Visitation 30 minutes prior to the service. Interment at Roselawn Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
