Elizabeth "Betty" Pollonais Obituary

Elizabeth Alma Pollonais Elizabeth Alma Pollonais (née Williams), age 93, was born on March 29,1933 in Trinidad and Tobago. She migrated to the United States, first settling in St. Paul, Minnesota, where she resided for 22 years. Upon retirement, she and her husband, Lloyd, relocated to Orlando, Florida where they resided for another 18 years. They returned to Minnesota in early 2022. She passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, surrounded by family.

Our Mom (Mama) — and Betty to her many friends — was a woman of quiet grace, sharp wit, and unmistakable style. She leaves behind a legacy woven from laughter, discipline, curiosity, and devotion — the kind of legacy that lives on in every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild who adored her. Her home was often filled with the soft, cheerful sound of her whistling — a tune for every mood, a melody for every moment.

Working with numbers came naturally to her, and she built a long, respected career as an accountant, where her precision, patience, and steady mind made her the person everyone trusted.

She was an avid reader in the truest sense of the word: Books, magazines, newspapers — she read everything. Every section. Every column. Even the classifieds and the obituaries. She believed every story mattered, every life had meaning, and every detail deserved attention.

Her sense of style was unmistakable. She never wore jeans — not once — and she took pride in dressing with intention. Every outfit matched.

In her later years, she developed a love for word-seek puzzles, finishing as many as three a day. They kept her mind sharp, her spirit engaged, and her competitive streak alive.

But above all, she loved her family. Her children were her heart; her grandchildren her joy; and, her great-grandchildren her delight. She celebrated every milestone, remembered every birthday, and held every one of them with a tenderness that never faded.

She leaves behind a family who will forever feel her absence — and forever feel her presence in the habits she passed down, the stories she told, and the love she gave so freely. Her life was full. Her love was constant. Her memory will be cherished. Preceded in death by her parents, Besselle Elenor Olive (née Gormandy) and Charles Cecil Williams; her husband, Lloyd, of 66 years; the last of her siblings (Cecil (Sonny), Lucia (Patsy), Cecelia (Bunny), Mervyn, Maria, and Charles (Louie)); children- Glen, Anita, Seaton, Kathleen, Susan, Laura and Lance; grandmother of Lisa, Suzette, Christopher, Brian, Jolanta, Frankie, Sharon, Paula, Michael and Shevon; great-grandmother to Alexis, Makayla, Kervon, Garfield, Isiah, Abby and many nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous other relatives and friends.
