Elizabeth Goreth Baker
Passed away on June 25, 2025. Born in St. Paul, MN, she grew up on a farm in Prescott, WI which instilled a strong work ethic, sensibility and appreciation for all things nice. She worked in HR at Burlington Northern, reconnected with and married Daniel Baker in 1983 and moved to CA continuing her career at United Technologies. After her husband's passing in 1993, she returned to MN, volunteering at St. Peter’s Church and teaching Asian Brush painting. She traveled to China and Japan, which influenced her Zen-like living spaces. Elizabeth was known for her independence, proud German heritage, artistic creativity, wit, grace in daily living, and immense love for friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan; parents Elizabeth and Emil Goreth; sister Alice Goetz and brother-in-law Bill Goetz; and nephew Daniel Goetz. She is survived by niece Denise (Bruce) Humphrey and their children Erin (Ryan), Shane (Taylor) and son Henry, Jack, and Kelly (Justin); nephew Chuck (Anita) Goetz and their children Brandon (Abby) and Camryn; and Dan Baker’s extended family.
Mass of Christian Burial 11am Tuesday July 1 at Church of St. Peter, 1405 Sibley Memorial Hwy, Mendota with visitation beginning at 10am. Burial Resurrection Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be made to PTACF, Church of St. Peter or Our Lady of Peace.
