Gile, Elinor T. (née Luger)

Age 89 of St. Paul went to heaven on March 1, 2021. Preceded in death by husband Hubert A “Skip” Gile Jr.; sons, John and Stephen; parents, Vincent and Bernardine (née Kremer) Luger; brother, Donald Lugar. Survived by son Matthew (Debbie), grandchildren, John’s sons, TJ Wegler and Joseph Gile, and Joe’s daughters, Evelyn and Willow; and dear cousin, Marguerite Hammer. Elinor was born in St. Paul and spent most of her life there except for the 13 years moving from place to place with her husband. California, Indiana, Washington DC, Montgomery & Mobile, Alabama, Scottsdale & Flagstaff, Arizona then back to St Paul. Homemaker, Boy Scout Den Mother, Dog Lover, Secretary, Bridge Player, Bookkeeper, Crafter, Recipe Tryer. She had friends across the generations. She LOVED to decorate for Christmas, Halloween and Easter. She didn’t love vegetables. Mass of Christian Burial 11am Tuesday, March 9 at CHURCH OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, 515 S. Albert St., St. Paul.  Visitation before mass will take place 9:30 to 10:30am at O’HALLORAN & MURPHY FUNERAL HOME (575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul), masks and social distancing required. Visitation and Mass can be viewed via Zoom, please call the funeral home for login information. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
