Edward Ehlenz Obituary

After 93 years, God has called Ed home.  Ed was born in St. Paul, Minnesota to Raymond T. and Caramel Ann (nee Dowling) Ehlenz.

He was preceded in death by parents, daughter Kathleen Anne, daughter-in-law Debbie and brother-in-law Theadore Reiling.

He is survived by the love of his life of 65 years Lois Ann (Blais) and his sister, Lois Marie Reiling. He was an amazing father to Greg Ehlenz (Diana), Tim Ehlenz, Annmarie (Louie Becker), Mike Ehlenz (Brian Avakian), Crissy Ehlenz (Tom Kampman), Tricia (Jason Ford) and Maria (Shane Nowak).  He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

He was a proud graduate of Cretin High School (Class of ‘46) and earned his Electrical Engineering degree where he worked his entire career at the University of Minnesota.  He served as an Intelligence Officer in the Air Force during the Korean War.  He put his family and Catholic faith first in all that he did. Praying the rosary and attending Holy Spirit mass was an important part of Ed’s life. He enjoyed going to the cabin, fishing, golfing, playing cribbage, bridge, and eating good food (especially breakfast).  We love and will miss him dearly!

Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM, Tuesday, July 13th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 515 South Albert St., St. Paul, MN, with a visitation 1 hour prior to Mass. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, with a lunch following the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial preferred to Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
