Edmund Yaroch Obituary

Edmund Joseph Yaroch, age 95, passed away peacefully at his home in Roseville, MN on December 24, 2021.

Ed was born on July 12, 1926 in Kinde Michigan to Marie and Edmund Yaroch. He was the third of four children.

After graduating from Bad Axe High School in 1944, Ed registered for the draft and was sent to Fort Sham, IL then Fort Riley, Kansas for basic cavalry training. He was assigned to the 96th infantry and was transported overseas to Leyte Island in the South Pacific until he was discharged after the end of WWII.

Ed graduated from the University of Detroit magna cum laude with a degree in chemical engineering. He worked his entire 40-year career at 3M. He was nominated for “Who’s Who in the Midwest, 14th Edition in 1974-1975.

Ed was an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling with his 3M buddies. He loved to travel and especially enjoyed staying at Ashford Castle in Ireland and seeing the Oberammergau Passion Play in Germany.

Ed was the family videographer for every holiday. He collected Dickens Villages and grew roses and vegetables for many years. To escape the cold Minnesota winters, Ed and his wife wintered for 20 years in Florida.

Ed is survived by his five daughters, Cathleen Ashland, Nancy Adams (Gregory) Lynda Ashe, Jody Bordwell (Tom) and Karin Penrod (Shelby); 12 grandchildren: Becky Pakulski (Ryan), Tracy Johnson, Timothy Johnson (Anna), Aimee Eckroth, Ericka Cole (David), Geoffrey Adams, Kristin Beuscher (Brad), Dan Bordwell, Bryan Penrod (Megan), Kelsey Beckman (Denny), Jenna Kunkel (Jordan) and Jamie Penrod; 17 great-grandchildren and many other loving family members. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 73 years, Betty Jane Krueger Yaroch, father and mother, Edmund and Marie Yaroch, brother William Yaroch, sister and brother-in-law Geraldine and Tom Vesey, and sister Patricia Bario.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Operation Smile.

A joint Celebration of Life service with Edmund and Betty Yaroch will be held at Roseville Memorial Chapel in Roseville, MN on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
