Donald (Don) Lee Lopez, age 86, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025.
Born on November 14, 1939, in Kewanee, IL, Don was the youngest of six children of the late Jenny and Jesse Lopez. He grew up surrounded by the warmth and mischief of the “Lopez clan,” a neighborhood filled with family, laughter, and lifelong memories.
Don met the love of his life, Rosemary, and together they shared 62 years of marriage—65 years of love, including the years they spent dating. Their bond was a constant source of strength and joy throughout his life.
Don had many interests throughout his life, fishing, pheasant hunting, golfing, and traveling the world. He was a proud veteran of the Army Reserve.
Deeply rooted in faith, Don lived his life with kindness, gratitude, and love for his family. He never met a stranger, and his long career in sales suited him perfectly—he had a natural gift for connecting with people.
Don is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary; his two daughters, his son, and their families.
Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home, 8700 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury, MN 55129. A graveside interment ceremony will take place in December 2025 at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in East Moline, IL. The date and time will be announced once finalized.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Don’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association: https://www.alz.org/
