Dona Duffy Obituary

 Dona Lou Duffy (née Edlund), age 95, passed away peacefully on November 30, 2022 at the Lyngblomsten Care Center. 

Dona was born in Fargo, ND and grew up in Wolverton, MN and Abercrombie, ND before attending the University of North Dakota where she earned her degree in teaching.  She taught HS English in Bemidji and Milan, MN before moving to the Twin Cities to teach at St. Paul Murray High School. She loved teaching at Murray and remembered and was remembered by former students’ decades later. Dona enjoyed traveling the world and visited every continent during her lifetime except Antarctica.  She was a voracious reader, loved eating out and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her parents Selmer and Grace Edlund and her husband Jim Duffy.  Dona is survived by her son John (Kristi) Duffy, daughter Mary Ellen Gordon and grandchildren James, Kevin and Colleen Duffy.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Salem Cemetery, Box 37, Wolverton, MN 56594.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Brighton, MN on December 22 at 11:00 am with visitation from 9:00 to 11:00.  Private Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
