David W. “Dave” “Youngy” Youngbauer

David W. “Dave” “Youngy” Youngbauer, age 60, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family after a courageous year and a half battle with cancer. Dave was born on December 11, 1965, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Ray and Violet Youngbauer. He grew up in St. Paul, where many of his closest friends lived just down the street. Together they spent countless hours playing sports and making memories that grew into lifelong friendships. He attended Nativity of Our Lord School, graduated from Cretin-Derham Hall, and went on to earn his degree from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.

Dave built a successful career in technology consulting and proudly served as a partner at LogiSolve. He was respected not only for his leadership and professionalism, but also for his kindness, mentorship, and genuine care for the people around him. Above all else, Dave was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He shared an incredible love story with his wife, Cindy, and together they built a family that meant everything to him. Dave had a way of making life more fun. Whether he was inventing games at the dinner table or making everyone laugh with one of his jokes, he found joy in the little moments. He believed life was meant to be celebrated and that laughter was one of its greatest gifts. His goofy personality was legendary. His friends affectionately nicknamed him “Silverback” because of his unforgettable gorilla impression, and his booming belly laugh could fill a room. His friends weren’t just friends, they were family. The countless visits, prayers, conversations, and acts of kindness they shared throughout his illness reflected the extraordinary friendships he spent a lifetime building. Dave loved sports, fishing, playing cards, working in the yard, and spending time with family and friends. His perfect Sunday would have included all of the above, especially if it ended with a Vikings win.

One of Dave’s greatest joys was becoming Grandpa. Although illness limited the time he was able to spend with his first grandson, Jameson. He treasured every moment they shared. Simply being present with him meant everything.

Dave faced cancer with remarkable courage and unwavering faith. He never questioned whether he would fight, he simply did. His words, “I’m not done,” became a reflection of the strength and determination with which he lived. He leaned on his Catholic faith throughout his journey, never complained, and inspired everyone around him with his resilience.

Dave is survived by his beloved wife, Cindy Youngbauer; his daughters, Isabel (Mark) Dwyer, Emma Youngbauer (fiancé Chris Deming), and Greta Youngbauer; his cherished grandson, Jameson David Dwyer; his brothers, Dan (Sharon) Youngbauer and Bob (Sandy) Youngbauer; his sister, Elaine (Mike) Seifert; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless dear friends who became family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Violet Youngbauer.

Dave’s legacy is not measured by titles or accomplishments, but by the laughter he shared, the friendships he nurtured, the love he poured into his family, and the courage with which he lived. He taught those around him to celebrate life, cherish the people you love, lean on faith during difficult times, and never underestimate the healing power of a good laugh. If you knew Dave, chances are you have a story that still makes you laugh. Whether it was one of his jokes, his “Silverback” impression, or simply his infectious joy, he had a remarkable gift for making people smile. While our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing his laughter, love, and unwavering spirit will live on through his family, his friends, and everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (575 S. Snelling Ave., St. Paul, MN). Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (324 S. Prior Ave., St. Paul). Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to mass at the church.
