David J. McLean, 73, of Shoreview, MN, passed away on September 18, 2025, after a short illness.
Survived by spouse Carol; children Scott, Jeffrey (Rebecca Yale), Kelsey Guy (James); grandchildren Myla, Ruby, and Franklin; brother Mark (Cathy); sister Theresa Logajan (Gery); several other relatives including aunts, uncles, cousins, and nephews. Preceded in death by parents Ralph and Geraldine; aunt Gertrude Miller; and sister Laura.
A long-time Roseville and Shoreview resident, David was a graduate of Mounds View High School and attended Lakewood and Inver Hills Community colleges, Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, and St. Paul Technical-Vocational Institute. His long and successful career centered on warehouse operations, and he had recently developed his own warehouse operations consulting business.
As an involved and caring father, David was an active volunteer for the Boy Scouts of America, Pack 407 and Troops 200 and 408. He received numerous scouting awards and completed the Wood Badge program for adult leaders. He also was a member of Venture Scouting for over 20 years and an accomplished scuba diver. A sports aficionado, he both played and watched hockey for many years.
A tribute to David will take place Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at the Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 North Hamline Avenue, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a short slideshow presentation at about 6:15 p.m.
A hard-worker and dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed by us all.
