September 22, 1944 – February 21, 2026
David Harry Mack was born on September 22, 1944, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, and passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026, in Stillwater, Minnesota.
David met the love of his life, Cheryl, while they were both working as Social Security administrators. They were married in 1984 and spent the rest of their lives side by side. Their marriage was one of deep partnership, steady devotion, and enduring love.
David proudly served in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1965 to 1967. As a result of his military service, David lived with Parkinson’s disease, yet he never allowed it to define him. Even in the face of health challenges, he remained a source of strength, encouragement, and support to those around him.
David was a good man. He was surrounded by love, and he radiated love in return.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Winifred Mack, and his brother-in-law, Boyd Sanden.
David is survived by his beloved wife, Cheryl Mack; his daughters, Terry (Tim) Frankfurth and Debbie (Scott) Buchkoski; his sister, Dianne Sanden; his grandchildren, Brandon (Meghan), Courtney (Sam), Emma, Amber, and Leah; his great-grandchildren, Beau and Bennett; and many other loving relatives and dear friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 26 at O’Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home (8700 Valley Creek Road, Woodbury, MN 55125) from 10-11 a.m., with a one-hour visitation prior to the service. David will be laid to rest at Fort Snelling National Cemetery following the luncheon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Minnesota Veterans Homes (MVH) and Good Samaritan Society of Stillwater.
