Darlene Anderson (nee Gac) died peacefully in the morning of September 19, 2022 with loved ones at her side after a diagnosis of Lewy Body Dementia and Vascular Dementia in 2019.
Darlene (Dar, Aunt Dolly) was born August 7, 1953, to Louis and Elizabeth (Pike) Gac, in Milwaukee, WI. She was a 1971 graduate of Marshall High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Metropolitan State University in St. Paul, MN in 1996. She was a proud employee of 3M in Maplewood, MN for over 30 years and retired from there in 2011.
In 2010 she met her "Honey" Alan Peterson who became her significant other for the past 12 years. She grew especially close to Alan's grandkids Cody, Camryn, and Cole and their mom Sharon. She and Alan had a lot of adventures over the 12 years; Valley Fair with the grandkids, fishing, multiple celebrations and picnics with Alan's large family, seeing the Tall Ships in Duluth, and several trips, including one of Alan's business trips to Germany and a wedding in Ireland. Darlene also loved her monthly GNO get-togethers and her women's golf league.
She was a kind, loving, beautiful, strong, fun-filled sister, aunt, relative, and friend of brother James (Sherry) Gac, nieces Alicia (James) Tock and Vicki (Drew) Schmidt, great nephew and great nieces Jensen and Olivia Schmidt and Johanna and Eleanor Tock, and great cousin Jean-Marie Scharch. Godmother to great cousin Juli (Scharch) Gullifer (son, Bill Gullifer). She spent a lot of time with Alan's family and her dear friends Siobhan Kierans and husband Ahmed Al-Beheary, who showed their love for Dar to the end.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Elizabeth (Pike) Gac, infant sister Kathleen, Alan's son Shane and brothers Khaled and Seth, and other relatives and friends.
A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice for their care of Darlene and support of Alan.
