Clinton "Bud" Burnes, Jr. Obituary

Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota, Clinton (Bud) Burnes, Jr. was part of a large family with nine brothers and one sister. His father, Clinton Sr., worked for the Minnesota Highway Department so the family moved frequently around the state. He met his future wife, Lois, at Olivet Church in Minneapolis and they were married in October of 1950.  Shortly after their marriage, Bud joined the Air Force and they moved to Biloxi, Mississippi. While living in Biloxi, their son, Greg, was born. The family returned to Bloomington, Minnesota, where they raised their family, which would include another son, Todd, and a daughter, Jennifer. Bud worked as a project manager for Honeywell and after retirement, he enjoyed many activities including gardening, volunteering, golfing, outdoor activities, woodworking, traveling, and spending time with family. Bud was an active member of Olivet Methodist Church and later at Oak Grove Presbyterian Church. Bud is survived by his loving wife, Lois; children, Greg (Mary), Todd (Patricia), and Jennifer (Brad) Plaman; grandchildren, Benjamin (Christine), Elizabeth (Kiah) Smith, Andrew (Jaime), Laura, Bailey Plaman, and Alyson Plaman; great-grandchildren, Gus and Clark Smith; and brothers, Jon, David and Gene. The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at St. Andrews and Orchard Path Presbyterian Homes for the incredible care and comfort that they provided for Bud. Due to the health crisis, we are not planning a visitation or public funeral. However, when it is safe, we will hold a celebration of Bud’s life. Please leave your thoughts below and they will be shared with Lois and the family. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to a charity of your choice.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
