Age 66, of St. Paul, passed away unexpectedly on June 29, 2026. Preceded in death by parents, William “Ted” Joyce and Patricia Joyce. Survived by Brothers, Mike (Mary) Joyce, Steve “Dino” (Nora) Joyce, Dan (Glynis Shea) Joyce, Mark (Marcia) Joyce; nephews & nieces, Tony Joyce, Tom Joyce, Eamonn Joyce, Liam Joyce, Cathie (Chris) Roering, Tricia (Tim) Welt, Ted (Caitlyn) Joyce, Danny Joyce, Maripat Joyce, Maggie (Augie) Thuente; several grand-nieces & grand-nephews; and many loving friends.
Chris graduated from St. Catherine University with a B.A. degree in journalism, followed by a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Hamline University. She was a lifetime employee at the State of Minnesota with the majority of her career in the Communications Department at MnDOT. She retired from her position as Director of Communications and Public Engagement in 2024, but retained her meticulous editing skills. She was always an avid reader, loved to entertain and host dinner parties, enjoyed traveling with her family and friends, and relished participating in “Words with Friends” online competitions. She especially treasured spending time with her loving nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial, 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 15, Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church (1938 Stanford Avenue South, St. Paul). Visitation is 4-7 PM, Tuesday, July 14, at O’Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home (575 South Snelling Avenue, St. Paul), and one hour prior to service at the church. Burial at Calvary Cemetery (753 Front Avenue, St. Paul). In memory of Chris, the family prefers donations be made to Cretin-Derham Hall High School, St. Catherine University, or donor’s choice.
