Beverly Kaye
Age 82 of St, Paul
Born June 6, 1939 in Chicago, IL was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Sally Scholl.
She will be greatly missed by her husband Edward, daughter Mary, and son Joseph. Beverly grew up in Chicago, graduated from Austin High School and continued her education at Northern Illinois University where she met her husband, Edward. She graduated with a degree in Chemistry and began her research career working in the labs of the Chicago Medical School and DeKalb County Coroner’s Office. The two married in Wheaton, IL in 1961 and moved to MN in 1963. She worked at the U of M where she did Neuro Chemistry Research. Her favorite research was an important contribution to the discovery of the Beta Amyloid link to Alzheimer’s. Her lab was also an early adopter of the mass-spec machine and an important part of its development.
She had two children in the 1970’s and dedicated her life and time thereafter to caring for her family. She taught both kids how to find information, how to satisfy curiosities and get their questions answered. Later in life, she even helped launch entrepreneurial endeavors with them. Beverly spent the last 10 years of her life at home with family, gingerly navigating the geriatric medical maze. She remained happy, funny, inquisitive, and pain free through all of it. She made it to her and Edward’s 60th wedding anniversary and was able to celebrate with a glass of wine, passing quietly in the early morning hours of Tuesday, September 14, 2021 in her own bed next to her husband. She is greatly missed.
Mass of Christian Burial 11am Tuesday, September 21 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 398 Superior St., St. Paul with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Entombment Resurrection Cemetery.
