FAITH • FAMILY • FRIENDS

Passed away peacefully on September 16, 2023 supported by her loving family. Preceded in death by parents Fred and Eileen Welch Probst; Grandparents, James and Alice Welch and John and Harriet Probst; Monsignor Robert Probst and Father Bernard Coughlin.

Barb lived the majority of her life in St. Paul attending St. Mark’s grade school, followed by St. Clara Academy in Sinsinawa, Wisconsin and back to St. Paul where she attended the College of St. Catherine (1958) and received her BS in nursing.

Married Charles Wollan in 1958 and spent the next twelve years raising her eight children. She returned to nursing at Midway hospital working nights alongside her wonderful friends and colleagues. She eventually moved into nursing administration until her retirement from HealthEast in 1998.

Her commitment to her Catholic faith was central to her life. During retirement she gave generously of her time supporting several ministries at Nativity parish including, attending daily 8:15 mass, funeral lunch leadership, NCCW, Grandparent’s Apostolate, Eucharistic Adoration, and Birthright.

Her grandchildren were blessed by her constant presence at all their activities and her famous New Year’s Eve celebrations! Her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren at the lake was treasured by all.

Barb was blessed to have a loving sister, Gretchen and brother-in-law, Mike Caprio as faithful companions who brought her tremendous joy.

Barb is survived by the eight joys of her life - her children (the originals) Mary (Tim) Quigley, Anne (Tom) Kocon, Tom (Joan) Wollan, Terri Wollan, Sue (Al) Fan, Kate Wollan, Eileen (Paul) Ryan, and Robert (Carolyn) Wollan; her 22 grandchildren (The Next Generation) Mike (Emily) Quigley, Brian (Sarah) Quigley, John (Dotsie) Quigley, and Kevin Quigley; Carlee (Todd) Canfield, Marty (Kelsey) Kocon, Kaytie Kocon, and Mickey (Sam) Kocon; Megan (Bob) Thompson, Tom Jr. (Jenny) Wollan, and Joe (Heather) Wollan; Ross (Claire) Stickler, and Sara Stickler; Allie, Kasey, and Tara Fan; Tim (Shannon) Ryan and Chris (Taylor) Ryan; and Elizabeth, Catherine, Emily, and Robbie Wollan.
