Barbara Jo Weber (76) of Mounds View passed peacefully on July 12th with family members at her side. Preceded in death by parents H. Chester Otteson and Ethel M. Otteson. Survived by sister, Mary Phillips; devoted husband of 51 years, Richard; sons, Gary (Jackie), Paul (Jess); grandchildren, Kai, Olivia, Vincent, Liza, and Heidi Jo. The last 5 years of Barbara's earthly journey were marked by coexistence with and management of metastatic cancer. Throughout this experience, Barbara was a consistent model of faith, kindness, positivity, curiosity, courage, and wonderment. In her final few days, with a smile on her face, this beautiful child of God made clear that she was leaving this world with a heart full of love and gratitude and a life well lived. Profound thanks goes to Palliative Care Dr. Herson and the many other kind souls at St. John's Hospital where Barbara was compassionately ushered through her final 2 weeks of life.    

Chief among Barbara's passions was the well-being of all children. This manifested itself fiercely in her 3 proudest achievements; being an elementary educator, raising 2 children, and spoiling 5 grandchildren. Music, horses, history, and geography are but a sample of her many other interests. All public events to be held on Thursday, July 22 at O'Halloran & Murphy Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 North Hamline Ave. Visitation 4-6 PM. Service 6 PM. Reception to follow. Private family interment at Ft. Snelling. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in any amount to your local school, school district, or any cause that benefits children.
