Barb is survived by her daughter Julie (Les) Laroche, son Paul (Cindy) Berggren; 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, sisters Deno Sorrels and Becky (Ray) Foss, nieces, nephews, and friends.  She was preceded in death by husband, Donald in 2006 after 50 years of marriage; brother Claude; sisters Addie (Loren) Ahlstrand, Grace Baker, granddaughter, Linnea; and many dear friends.

Barb was born June 12, 1932 in Becker, Minnesota to Rudy and Bertha Linder.  Claude, Barbara, and Addie were the oldest of six children in the Linder household. When their mother died, Rudy was remarried to Beatrice and added Grace, Deno, and Becky to the family.  At 16 years old, Barb met her future husband, Don Berggren, at Camp Joy one summer thanks to brother Claude’s successful matchmaking.

After graduating from Oak Grove Lutheran High School in Fargo, ND, she earned her R.N. from Hamline University School of Nursing, Mounds Midway unit while Don served in the US Navy and finished college.  Barb and Don were married June 2, 1956 and lived in St. Paul where Don taught secondary science as the family grew with daughter Julie in 1961, and son Paul in 1966.  She was a career emergency room triage nurse and retired from Hennepin County General Hospital as a pioneer in triage nursing care.  Barb was always active in church ministries, many outreach ministries, and befriending families with the love of Jesus.  She enjoyed travel, painting, crafting, sewing, flower arranging, entertaining, and was active in Gideons International with Don and close friends. After recovering from a stroke in May 2022, Barb moved to assisted living in Naperville, IL to be near Julie and family.

Barb was a prayer warrior her entire adult life who kept family, friends, and ministries surrounded in prayer through the ups and downs of life.  She was a solid foundation of faith who brought a peace and calm to the emergency room, and a tender heart for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.   Barb savored her sister reunions over the years with stories, hymns, and endless laughter they also enjoyed with brother, Claude.  She always had an extra place at the table for others, and now enjoys her place at a heavenly table with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
