Annabel Lacoque Carchedi, was the seventh child of twelve children born to Delina and William Lacoque. She was born in Padus, Wisconsin on February 22, 1928, and passed away on March 10, 2025 at the age of 97. Ann is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Frank Carchedi, and her great-granddaughter, Isla Victoria. Annabel was a humble, selfless woman of faith in God and the Catholic Church. She was a devoted wife and mother to seven children.
Annabel moved to St. Paul, MN in 1948 and worked at Bethesda Hospital as an X-ray technician. She married Joseph Frank Carchedi in 1952, and they raised seven children together. Ann had the heart of a devoted mother and stayed home with her children until they were grown. In 1983, she returned to healthcare as a radiation technician in the cancer center at St. Joseph Hospital. Ann and Joe retired in early 1991, and moved to Lakeland, Florida. Joe died October 1, 1991, and Ann remained in Lakeland where she began a new chapter of life being active in church and community activities. She volunteered in hospice care, the Polk County for Life Center, Lakeland Women’s Club, and Resurrection Church. Ann was an enthusiastic tennis player, an accomplished bridge player, and she loved to dance.
Ann moved back to St. Paul in 2020. She made many new friendships, and continued to be involved in the community. She loved visiting with her seven children, eleven grand-children, and her many great-grandchildren.
A private grave side service (Rite of Committal) will be Friday, March 14. A Memorial Mass date will be set at a later date.
Our family is grateful to the amazing care givers at Carondelet Arbor Memory Care. They provided exceptional care with compassion and dignity to Annabel for the past 15 months.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Guiding Star Wakota, or the Church of St. Peter’s Uganda Mission.
