Dennis Edward Libra

Dennis E. Libra died January, 27, 2020 at the age of 73. He was preceded in death by parents, Tony and Eleanor Libra. Survived by wife, Kate; and children and step-children, Lucy, Levi (Molly), Jennifer (Jim) Ballinger, Jill Olson, Jeff (Janet), Mike (Desiré) Horwath, Tim, Talisha and Tyrell Libra; 9 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; brothers and sisters, David (Mary), Janet (Jim) Woehrle, Judy (Rolf), Nancy, Mary Kay, Paul (Barb); and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful friends. Dennis served in the Marine Corps from 1966-1968. He worked for Ramsey County for 30 years as a social worker, and served as Child Protection Supervisor and later Adult Protection Supervisor. He was devoted to his job and wanted to make a difference in the lives of those he served. After retirement, he worked as a court visitor for Ramsey and Hennepin Counties. Dennis was known for his love of gardens; his own or any he could visit while traveling. He loved Red Wing pottery, and writing anything from court reports to rules for the kids. His funny and sometimes weird Christmas letters were enjoyed by many. He had a quirky sense of humor, and will be missed by all who knew him. Visitation on Friday, February 7th from 4:00-8:00 PM at Roseville Memorial Chapel, 2245 Hamline Ave. N, Roseville MN. Funeral Saturday, February 8th at 11:00 AM at Roseville Lutheran Church 1215 Roselawn Ave W, Roseville, MN. The family is so grateful for the care and compassion provided by all the wonderful people at Health Partners Hospice. Memorials preferred to Como Conservatory or Keystone Community Services.
