Scapanski, Marilyn J.

Age 82

Of St. Paul

Slipped gracefully into eternity February 1 after 7 years of cancer. She died peacefully at home surrounded by loving family. Born in McMinnvile, OR to Erna and Theophiel Isaak, she graduated from Willamette University and worked for International Christian Leadership in Washington, DC. Later she served on the staffs of Gov., and Sen. Mark Hatfield of OR. In Minnesota, she served on the staff of Gov. Al and Mrs. Gretchen Quie. In other positions, she served at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Institute of Technology (U of M) and at the University of St. Thomas. She was known for her generosity of spirit and loving heart. Marilyn is survived by husband, Gene, and daughters Nicole (Kirk) Gilbertson and Tanya (Bjorn) Piltingsrud; and by 5 grandchildren: Ryan Doherty, Connor and Wyatt Gilbertson; Toren and Saskia Piltingsrud. A special thank you to Dr. Brian McClune, Masonic Cancer Ctr. Staff and Fairview Hospice. Visitation Friday, Feb. 16, 4-8 PM at O’Halloran & Murphy (575 Snelling Ave S, St. Paul) 698-0796. Ecumenical celebration of life: Westminster Presbyterian Church (1200 S. Marquette Ave., Minneapolis) on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11 AM with visitation 1 hour prior. Private Interment at Resurrection Cemetery. Memorials preferred: Donors choice.
