Michael is a licensed funeral director that joined the firm in July of 2006. Son of John and Cynthia O’Halloran, he is a St. Paul Academy lifer, graduate of the University of St. Thomas with a degree in business, and a graduate of the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program. Michael is co-owner and President of the funeral homes, a St. Paul Rotarian and a member of the St. Paul Serra Club. Living in St. Paul, he is the 4th generation of O’Hallorans’ to continue the longtime family tradition of quality funeral service in St. Paul and surrounding areas. He enjoys traveling, playing golf and drums, and spending time with his family.
John is from St. Paul. He graduated from Holy Spirit Grade School in 1953, Cretin High School 1957 and the University of Notre Dame 1961. He served a year in the 828 US Army Signal Corps and was discharged at Fort Stewart, Georgia in 1962. After receiving his Associates Degree in Mortuary Science in 1964, he joined the family funeral home operated by his mother Dolores O’Halloran Countryman. Upon the retirement of his brother in 1991, John became sole owner of the funeral homes. John has since purchased a third funeral home, Dares Funeral Home in Elk River, MN from his friend Bob Dare in 2001. John is married to Cynthia Melady and has three children: Emily, who lives and works in Manhattan, John Carlos, a St. Paul Police officer, and Michael, who is continuing the family tradition of quality funeral service.
Tom was born and raised in NE Minneapolis. Eventually moving with his family to the northern suburbs where he graduated from Anoka High School in 1979. Tom spent 6 years in the Air Force as a Communications/Navigations specialist before returning to Minnesota in 1987. Tom pursued his mortuary Science degree and graduated from the U of M in 1990. His hobbies include electronics, computers, hunting and his dogs. Tom has been the commander of the American Legion, Hamline post 418 and enjoys speaking to college level “Death and Dying” classes about his chosen profession. Tom has been the manager of our O’Halloran & Murphy Chapel in Highland Park since 1992 and is currently General Manager of Funeral Service Operations and Personnel. He and his wife Linda live in Blaine with their four legged children.
Lincoln has been with O’Halloran and Murphy Funeral Homes since July 1998. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – STOUT with a major in Business and Marketing and a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a degree in Mortuary Science. He holds his funeral directors license in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. He is a proud supporter/rider of The Blackwoods Blizzard Ride which is the largest snowmobiling fundraiser for ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease) and is also the organizer for The "Original 33" Motorcycle Ride to benefit a local family or wounded veteran in need which is always held the second Saturday in July out of Prior Lake, MN. Lincoln is originally from Mound, MN but currently he and his son live in Burnsville, MN.
Barbara graduated from the University of Minnesota in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mortuary Science. She is a licensed funeral director and has been with the O'Halloran & Murphy Funeral Home since April 2001. Barbara grew up in southern Minnesota near Blue Earth. She currently resides in the Twin Cities with her husband, David and children, Luke, Audrey and Maria.
Josh is a Minnesota licensed funeral director and graduated from the University of Minnesota Mortuary Science Program in 2000. He is originally from West Central, MN but currently resides in the twin cities. In his free time, Josh loves to hunt, fish and play basketball.
Elizabeth M. Miller
Elizabeth is a Minnesota licensed funeral director. She grew up in Watertown, South Dakota and attended Minnesota State University, Mankato. Elizabeth joined O’Halloran & Murphy in 2009 as a night attendant, and earned her degree in Mortuary Science from Des Moines Area Community College. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, attempting DIY projects, and amateur furniture building.
Elizabeth currently lives in St. Paul with her husband, Andrew, and her dog, Olive.
Louise is a licensed mortician and has been with O’Halloran and Murphy Funeral Home since August 2012. She earned her BS in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota. Louise also holds a BFA degree in Technical Theatre with an emphasis in costume, hair, and makeup design from North Dakota State University. Louise lives in Minneapolis with her husband, Casey and her beloved cats, Choach and Barbara Jean.
Tom Thedens graduated from Blaine High School in 1979, he attended Anoka-Ramsey Community College earning an Associate of Arts Degree. Then transferring to Moorhead State where he earned a Business Administration Degree in 1983. In 1985 Tom completed his degree in Mortuary Science from the University of Minnesota.
He lives just outside of Elk River with his wife, Kathy and his 3 daughters, Amanda, Sarah and Emily. Tom is a member of Central Lutheran Church in Elk River and enjoys hunting, fishing and horseback riding.
Kevin graduated from Elk River Area High School in 1992. He attended the University of Minnesota-Morris, before transferring to the Twin Cities Campus to complete his degree in Mortuary Science.
He is a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church in Burns Township, where he completed his elementary education.
Kevin currently resides in Ramsey with his wife, Jennifer, and their 2 daughters, Lillian and Eleanor.
He is humbled to have the opportunity to serve families in the community where he was raised.
Jackie Novisky has been with Roseville Memorial Chapel since April 2005. She has a degree in Marketing from the University of Minnesota – Metropolitan and is a Certified Pre-Planning Consultant through the National Funeral Directors Association.
Jackie and her husband Bob live in Minneapolis with there two daughters; Natalie and Megan.
Funeral Directors Assistant
Bill is a graduate of St. Thomas College with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. He taught school in Columbia Heights, MN for 5 years, after that, he joined a major publishing company as a sales rep calling on schools throughout MN, South Dakota, and Western Wisconsin over the span of his career. Upon retiring in 2003, Bill became a Funeral Directors Assistant with O’Halloran & Murphy. He and his wife Susan live in the Highland Park area of St. Paul.
Jayne joined O’Halloran & Murphy in June of 2013 as the Administrative Assistant of our new Woodbury location. She has a rich background in serving individuals and organizations with her strong administrative skills and her keen eye for detail. Over the years, Jayne has served as an executive secretary; an office manager of a radio station and as a children’s pastor in Illinois. Her care and compassion for bereaved families is evident in all that she does which makes her an important part of the O’Halloran & Murphy team in Woodbury. She means it when she says “We hate to be needed, but we love what we do”.
Jayne is married to Dick and they have two children, Alex & Jodi. Jayne and her husband reside in Woodbury
